Wire Rope Examination courses based upon the requirements of BS ISO 4309:2017 Cranes - Wire ropes - Care and maintenance, inspection and discard.  The courses are delivered by industry expert David Hewitt, with attendees benefitting from over 50 years direct crane rope experience.

Aim

Standard one and two day courses are available, aimed at people involved in the selection, use, inspection and examination of steel wire ropes.  The courses provide the delegate with knowledge of rope terminology, properties of different types of wire ropes, how and where a rope is likely to deteriorate, how to carry out a detailed examination on a wire rope, correct installation and maintenance of wire ropes and the in-service condition assessment of a rope in accordance with standards and legislation.  The courses are accredited under the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) Accredited Training Scheme (ATS).
